Students urged to take online green test

PRIMARY and secondary school students can test their knowledge on the environment and stand a chance to win mystery prizes by taking part in an online quiz competition.

Held in conjunction with the Penang Government’s ‘Green School’ award programme, the online quiz competition will be held from Thursday to Sept 25.

Organising chairman Koay Teng Hai said students must answer 10 questions in 20 minutes by accessing the website portal of http://greenstate.penang.gov.my.

“They can do so with the help of their family members and teachers during the school holidays.

“We hope the quiz will increase their awareness to create a cleaner, greener Penang,” he told a press conference on Friday.

Koay said the first 100 participants who successfully answer the questions correctly in the shortest time period would be given mystery gifts.

“They will also stand a chance to participate in a green camp organised by the state government during the end of the year school holidays in November,” Koay said.

Those interested can contact 04-6505112 or thingsiewshuen@penang.gov.my for details.

Earlier, Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng presented RM200 and a certificate respectively to Foo Yong See, Teoh Zhen Chao and Khok Kin Yu for winning the NTV7 Mandarin Battle Star on Aug 8.

The students from SJK (C) Kim Sen also won a trophy, products from BESTA and RM25,000 for their school after the trio emerged champion in a TV game show for primary school students to test their Mandarin language and general knowledge skills.
